Industry Pest Management Group (project 4.4)

IPMG was established as a CRC project in June 2006, co-funded by additional industry contributions. This project linked with the “sustainable management of key pests” theme of Project 4.2 (“Biodiversity”), but had a strong focus on extension work aimed at adoption of research results for integrated pest management in blue gum plantations in south-west Western Australia and the Green Triangle.

This project coordinated regular monitoring of natural enemy and insect herbivore activity in blue gum plantations, developed protocols for assessment of insect pests for project partners and provided regular technology transfer through field days and training of company personnel.
