Managing and sustaining (project 1.2)

This research focuses on building an understanding of the climate, site and biotic factors that affect plantation productivity and developing hazard and risk assessment techniques and robust management systems to reduce the probability of loss of production and ensure sustainable production through multiple rotations. This will be done in two subproject areas:

  • 1.2.1 Sustaining site resources
  • 1.2.2 Measuring and managing forest health

The leader of Project 1.2 is Dr Caroline Mohammed (Ensis).

Senior Scientists are Tom Baker (University of Melbourne/Department of Sustainability and Environment), Don White (Ensis), Ian Smith (University of Melbourne/Department of Sustainability and Environment), Bernie Dell (Murdoch University), and Christine Stone (State Forests New South Wales).
